Decorate your own twig crown with dried material from the gardens

1:30 til 4pm: Hut Building

Make a hut from garden stuff!

Tuesday 15th April

9:30 til 12pm – Twiggy Wands

Make wands with natural materials

1:30 til 4pm – Weaving Nature

Use a natural frame to create fun patterns with dried natural materials

The gardens host many special events for our local community, and provide a beautiful backdrop for performances, exhibitions, weddings and special occasions. For more information on hiring a site within the gardens, please contact us at events@whangareigardens.org.nz

hospice remembrance walk

Saturday 30th November 2024, 3pm - 6pm

North Haven Hospice has again partnered with the Whangārei Quarry Gardens to provide space and time for the community to gather and remember the loved ones they have lost. This is a free event for all the community to remember and rejoice in good memories and dedicate a little time to special people once in their life.

All are invited to walk through the gardens and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. A whakatau will begin the event at 3:15 pm, followed by entertainment and remembrance activities for all ages, which are available for all those who wish to participate. Whangārei Youth Music, Whangārei Girls High School and The Spectacles are contributing their time, waiata, and music to the event, and North Haven Hospice will also have waiata groups participating. There will be poetry, and stones to color or write messages on, which can be taken home, left in the gardens, or placed in the stream or lake. Sausage Sizzle will be available to purchase from the Tutukaka Lions.
